The Site

The Single Well Control Panel System is installed onshore in Egypt for Bapetco. The phased installation took place between 1990 through to 1998. (30 systems)

The Requirement

To provide a system of stand-alone solar powered, Hydraulic and Pneumatic single well control panels. Telemetry between the host and remote wellhead sites for control and monitoring to be via an existing dial-up telephony system.

The Solution

The system features an autonomous Single Well Control Unit. An in-built low power CAC EXS1000 RTU provides control and monitoring of the Hydraulic and Pneumatic power unit, pneumatic logic and battery regulation. In addition, The EXS1000 provides an in-built 'Report-By-Exception', alarm messaging and dial-up modem handling functionality. The system also features a central SCADA Host computer with QNX based real-time operating system.
