Facilities Monitoring Solution
Along with providing optimization at the well level with
automation tools, eProduction Solutions also provides tools for operations
optimization. By providing up-to-the-minute information about your field,
coupled with advanced analysis capabilities, the tools assist in making
sound decisions related to field and platform operations.
Well and Facility-Site Intelligence with the Facilities Monitoring Solution
eP's solutions provide hardware for facility monitoring
and process control for production and test separators. eP offers two
solutions for well and facility site monitoring.
EXS-1000
eP's EXS-1000 is for use in automating oil and gas
production wells and other general purpose applications requiring small
to medium I/O point counts. Its electronic circuit boards are conformally
coated for protection in extreme corrosive, humid and temperate environments.
The EXS-1000 design is based on 25 years of experience
in providing process controllers for use in harsh environments along with
quality controlled manufacturing practices. This design provides high
reliability for even the most extreme conditions.
The EXS-1000 is a cost effective production automation
controller designed for simple applications as a stand alone unit, or
for more complex applications that involve control, communications, and
alarming.
Startup is easy using the keypad/liquid crystal display
or Windows based configuration management software. No special programming
knowledge is required to apply the automatic alarm based control functions.
The EXS-1000 is designed for easy communications
to host computers and DCS systems using either Modbus RTU, Modbus ASCII,
or eP's own 8500 protocol.
The basic RTU measures 8"x7.5"x2.5" and
may be mounted standalone on any control panel or optionally packaged
in a NEMA 4 enclosure for outdoor service.
The EXS-1000 is suitable for applications such as
well injection, well disposal, tank, and compressor monitoring.
CS7X
The CS7X is an Internet ready, modular and scalable
distributed control system designed to provide real-time process control
and monitoring of oil and gas production facilities. An integral web server
supports direct viewing of process data using off-the-shelf browsers such
as Internet Explorer or Netscape. A flash file system supports FTP file
transfer of system configuration and HTML files.
Supported applications include valve and motor control,
AGA3/AGA8 gas flow calculations, continuous loop PID control, and emergency
shut down capabilities. High availability is achieved by redundant processors,
hot swappable components, global database architecture and multiple communication
channels. I/O modules are available in either a 6U rack or DIN rail mount
configuration.
The eP CS7X is used for applications such as well
testing, platform monitoring, and injection manifolds.
Desktop Intelligence with the Facilities Monitoring Solution
The production operations software displays data from
all aspects of the field. Rather than display data points as they are
returned from the RTU or PLC, the data is grouped into a hierarchical
structure of facilities, tanks, separators, and wells that accurately
represent the field for the user to monitor, control, and analyze field
operations.
Field Monitoring
A user of this application can get up-to-date information
about the current level of production from facilities, and compare it
to well production information from well testing and well monitoring.
The user then has immediate material- balancing information.
When a user sees a significant change in production for
the field or a particular facility, he/she can "drill down"
to the well level to see where the change is originating. Then with other
available modules he/she can analyze reasons for the production change
at the well level.
Facility Monitoring / Control
The production operations software advanced alarming
features provide the ability to act on alarm states. For example, when
a tank level passes a preset point, the software can shut down all wells
feeding that tank, present an alarm on the screen, and even call or page
the operator responsible for that tank.
Temperature, pressure, ESDs, tank level, and flow rates
are tracked and trended, and alarm points are set to alert operators of
pending problems. The daily reports provide the operator with a snap shot
of the day's well production and performance. Downtime reports allow personnel
to set priorities of which wells need attention based on downtime associated
with each well and the downtime information is used to accurately measure
individual well production.
Well Testing
The desktop solution provides an easy way to configure
test facilities. The user can add new wells to the system, and the time,
order, and frequency of tests are easily configurable for automatic, semiautomatic,
or manual well testing systems. Intelligent sequencing allows operators
to cycle critical wells through well testing more often than non-critical
wells in an automatic well test system. The time consuming task of well
test evaluation is minimized with automatic validation of well tests,
which validates obviously correct well tests based on user parameters.
