Progressing Cavity Pumping (PCP)
The use of progressing cavity pumps is becoming the preferred method of artificial lift in areas having high solids, heavy API oil, and high volumes. Over 50,000 wells worldwide are now using PCP for these demanding applications.
During operation, several factors can inhibit the PCP pump from performing optimally. Varying inlet production rates, PCP pump wear, and clogged inlet screens can each mask themselves as other problems. Without the correct optimization solution, it is very difficult to diagnose current problems and nearly impossible to perform predictive analysis.
Weatherford offers intelligence at the wellsite with a VFD, downhole sensors, and surface instruments specifically designed for PCP operations. At the desktop, Weatherford provides intelligence through software that monitors, analyzes, controls, and designs the lift system.
