Very Fast Loop

The wellhead needs near-instantaneous optimization to assure that changes in the well equipment or the well itself are compensated for quickly with as little adverse effect as possible. This is accomplished with peripheral devices supplying data to eP’s well site controllers, which are specifically designed and programmed for the individual well conditions and configuration. The controllers react to changing situations without the need for human intervention.

Fast Loop

While the controller handles immediate changes in the well, more-detailed analysis is required on a regular basis. The controllers can be fine tuned daily to assure maximum operation of the well. This analysis generally takes place remotely with desktop software communicating with the well site controllers and using the real-time data for advanced analysis and current optimization.

Additionally, eP’s combination of EPS software and LOWIS™ provides analysis and assures field-wide asset optimization for both brown and green fields. While EPS software focuses mainly on production and reservoir engineering and LOWIS focuses mainly on operations, the capabilities of both software packages are beneficial to all types of fields.

Slow Loop

While reservoir optimization is generally performed yearly rather than daily or instantaneously, it requires a large amount of data. eP provides that historical data from real-time and non-real-time sources and uses it in its analysis software tools to analyze the changes of the reservoir. The precision measurements are retrieved from advanced permanent optical gauges and used within eP’s and third party software for optimal results in changing operating procedures based on reservoir changes. This reservoir optimization allows the operator to identify and adjust to adverse conditions such as water break through.
